SUSANOWA
Guesthouse "SUSANOWA" is located right next to Susa Shrine, Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture. Susa Shrine is a famous as a sacred site. The Susa River flows next to our guesthouse, and you’ll listen to murmuring of the river while you stay. There are two hot springs nearby, in a few minutes’ walk. By car, you can go to the national park and have a relaxing time in the forest. In our guesthouse, you can do yoga or meditation. We’d love for you to come “SUSANOWA” and enjoy your relaxing stay.

We have two Japanese style rooms, "SUSANO-O-MA" on the second floor and "OKUNINUSHI-MA" on the first floor. The house is a traditional house that was built 100 years ago, and we have renovated as a guesthouse. You can fell a Japanese style ambience here.
- Please be aware that footsteps and other noises can easily be heard inside our guesthouse.

You can see the Susa River from the window and listen to murmuring of the river.

STAFF
The guesthouse "SUSANOWA" is run by a married couple born in Shimane Pref. This house is that wife’s grandmother used to live when she was a child and was built about 100 years ago. We renovated this old house and opened as a guesthouse " SUSANOWA".
I returned to Shimane Prefecture after gaining various work experience in Tokyo. I am interested in the spiritual world and retreatment thought, I started this guesthouse. My wife is in charge of cooking dishes and providing hospitality to the customers.
HOW TO STAY
Today, many people today live with stress. Why don’t we separate ourselves from hustle and bustle for a while. Such as Visiting a sacred place, having a relaxing time in the forest, taking a hot spring and doing yoga or meditation.
There are Susa Shrine, which is famous as a sacred place, the Susa River, and hot spring. Let’s visit these places and enjoy your retreatment.
AREA GUIDE
Susa Jinja (Shrine)
This shrine is famous as a sacred place. It is located right next to our guesthouse.
Izumo Taisha Shrine
40-minute by car
It is one of Japan's most representative shrines, and many tourists visit the shrine. It is famous as a sacred place for marriage.
Kirara Taki (Beach)
20-minute by car
It is located near the roadside station Kirara Taki. The view of the sun setting is so beautiful, and it has been selected as one of Japan's top 100 sunsets.
National Park “Mt. Sanbe”
40-minute by car
It is an active volcano consisting of six peaks. You can enjoy nature activities such as mountain climbing and nature walks.
Lake Shinji
45-minute by car
It is the 7th largest lake in the country. It is a brackish lake with a mixture of fresh water and seawater. The sunset view is also amazing.
Iwami Ginzan
60-minute by car
Iwami Ginzan is the first mining site in Asia to be registered as a World Heritage Site. It was registered as an industrial ruin that coexists with the natural environment.
Matsue Castle
60-minute by car
Matsue Castle is famous for its existing castle tower. The castle tower has been designated as a national treasure.
Ryuzugataki Falls
10-minute by car
This is a famous waterfall that has been selected as one of Japan's top 100 waterfalls. The waterfall cascades down from a height of about 40 meters.

- It takes about 40 minutes by bus from JR Izumo-shi Station to Izumo-Susa bus stop.
- It is about 3 kilometers from Izumo Susa bus stop to "SUSANOWA". (About 5 minutes by taxi)
- Please contact us in advance and we will provide a free shuttle service from Izumo Susa bus stop.
